HEATHER R. HOLDEN'S OFFICIAL LITTLE CORNER OF THE WEB

About

I'm a fantasy writer, comic artist, and hopeless fangirl of countless other writers and artists! To learn more about me and my projects, please check out the FAQ below...

All About Heather

  1. Who are you?

My name is Heather R. Holden, and I'm a writer as well as a comic artist. Horror and fantasy are my genres of choice. Most of my projects have a comedic bent and often feature folklore and mythology in some way.

  2. Who inspires you as a writer?

My biggest inspiration is easily Lynne Ewing, who also happens to be my favorite author. (Has been since 2001!) I adore the way she develops characters, the world they live in, and—if it happens to be a fantasy book—the mythology and magic those characters get messed up with. If you’ve never read anything by this amazing author before, I highly recommend you check out her Daughters of the Moon series first!

Other writing influences include Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (particularly, for her world-building) and Archie comics (for the comedy). There are many other influences I could list, but that would take ages, so I'll spare you all the torture of that. ;)

  3. Who inspires you as an artist?

Many artists have inspired me over the years. Some of my main influences include Holly Golightly, Dan Parent, Matsuri Hino, Gisèle Lagacé, Madame M, Fernando Ruiz, Dan DeCarlo, Samm Schwartz, Starline Hodge, Queenie Chan, and Stephen Gammell, amongst others.

  4. What do you like to do?

Besides writing and drawing, you mean? I'm a big fan of cross-stitching and sewing, and have also been known to become way too obsessed with reading, watching TV, and listening to music.
