Melinoe
As the daughter of Persephone and Zeus, one side of her body is black while the other is white, representing her ties to both Olympus and Hades. She acts as an underworld goddess of ghosts and propitiations in Greek mythology. At night, she wanders the earth invisibly with a gaggle of ghosts, and this is the reason given for why dogs sometimes seem to bark senselessly at nothing.
